When it comes to learning how to get clear skin, you have to do yourself one big favor. Stop paying attention to people who repeat the myths and perpetuate the lies and find out the real truths. There are a lot of myths and lies about acne, but the one's I wish to discuss are the diet and acne connection, the myth about washing your face to stop breakouts and lastly I want to talk about why are there only products on the market that force people to keep buying stuff rather than permanent solutions.
So let's begin with the connection between diet and acne. So often we hear experts say something like "It's been proven that there is no connection between your diet and acne. Don't focus on it if you want to know how to get clear skin." They may even cite studies and their conclusions. What you don't hear them say is that rather than being a truly conclusive study, they were cursory at best. The most conclusive of studies done and referred to was in 1970 and went for an entire 7 days. Just think about that for a minute. How many advances in medical science have been made in the past 5 years alone, setting aside the other 34 years?? Also, anyone who knows anything about acne knows that breakouts can occur weeks before we even see them.
Also what they fail to mention is that there have been many studies on cultures outside of our own, such as the Ache, Kitavan and Inuit. All of their diets consisted of completely natural foods that they grew or captured themselves. How many recorded cases of acne did they have? Not one. What makes this more convincing to people who might claim "Well they have different genes" is that the Inuit were studied when they began eating a western style diet. The results?
Acne. Breakouts started occuring for many of them. Clearly, diet plays some sort of function in the causation of acne and is a big component for how to get clear skin.
Moving along to washing your face. I can't stand it when I see someone say this. Your hygiene plays no role in your breakouts. People who don't have acne can walk around with diet covered skin and not get a single breakout. There just isn't any connection.
Some people know there's no connection beween dirt and acne but then they'll say something like you have to take care of any extra oil on your skin. The so called "T-Zone" has to be washed so excess oil doesn't clog pores. This is another great acne myth for how to get clear skin. Even if you somehow managed to somehow wash your face every single minute of the day every day, you're not doing anything beneficial for your skin. Besides, washing obviously only takes away the natural oils on the surface of the skin, which only causes you to breakout more.
Lastly we come to the big daddy of acne "how to get clear skin" myths. All of the products sold to us. This is my favorite metaphor about why drug companies love to make these "cures" for acne. Just imagine for a moment that there's a large pond full of dirty and dank water that just sits in your back yard. Without fail, you always get mosquitoes who love the water lay their eggs there. Every year they come back.
You can kill all of the mosquitoes with chemicals and sprays. This method works great; all of the mosquitoes die....but then they come back in a year. Your other alternative is to simply drain the pool and get rid of the problem forever. The drug companies are keen on making products that only deal with the symptoms of acne, such as excess oil, to much bacteria and dead skin because they want you to keep buying. If they sold cures, they'd only have you as a customer once. Why do you think all of their products are promoted by pretty people? We see their great skin and think they got it by using their product.
Simply said, acne is something that begins inside of us. How to get clear skin has nothing to do with how much you wash or how many new products you try. None of them will work because you're only treating the symptoms and not the real causes.
How to get clear skin is not a big secret. You just need to treat the real problem
